The new Mk7 GTI is a true hot hatch right out of the box. With this one, Volkswagen seems to have built on the already aggressive design of the mk6 and enhanced that aggression even further with sharper lines and edges. CTS has done a good job of maintaining VW’s intended look, but adding just that bit more, making other new GTI owners stop in their tracks and wonder why their own cars don’t look quite as good. KW Suspension and a custom CTS Turbo exhaust lend a hand in achieving this well tailored look and the Rotiform IND wheels perfect it. It’s almost like they were made specifically for the Mk7 GTI.

British Classics on a Fall Day in Whistler
Before the weather in Vancouver turned to the fall season, I got together with a few friends and took a drive up the Sea to Sky Highway to enjoy our cars before putting them away. After arriving in the village and walking around we stumbled upon a Classic British Car show. I was immediately taken in by all the classic details of these beautiful British sports cars.

Dundarave Porsche Show & Ride 2014
The Dundarave Porsche Show & Ride is a must attend event every year for me. It’s a laid back atmosphere with beautiful Porsches of all years, great conversation with owners, builders, restorers, and friends, as well as good coffee and food all right on the main strip in the little West Vancouver village. It’s an event not to be missed if you are any bit into Porsches, which of course, I am.

Italian Car Show at Lonsdale
With a limited amount of time on Sunday, I decided to stop by the beginnings of the Father’s Day Italian Car Show at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver before hitting the Dundarave Porsche Show & Ride. In hindsight, I should’ve done things the other way around, as the Italian collectors seemed a bit slower on the arrival then the Porsche guys who were out in full force between 10 and 11am over in West Vancouver. There were only about 15 cars out when I arrived at Lonsdale at 10am, but my were they gorgeous. The Maserati 3500 GT Superleggera and the Alfa Romeo 1600Z pictured below were two that caught my eyes right away. No Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s had arrived yet, which was actually kind of nice as it allowed me to focus in closely on the details of just a few cars, the Alfa Romeos, the Fiats, Maseratis, and Lancias. I love the details, I love seeing all the interesting little things that these more unique cars came with. Todays vehicles just can’t compare in any way.

Volkswagen GTI’s on Display at the 2014 Vancouver International Auto Show
I was recently commissioned by the producers of the VW Magazine of Canada, Volkswagen Canada’s official magazine, sent to 120,000 customers across the country. I was asked to photograph the display of GTI’s at the Vancouver International Auto Show. The display featured GTI’s from the 1st generation up to the newest 7th generation. The photos were used in the just released Spring/Summer 2014 issue of the magazine to showcase the cars featured in the booth along with write-ups about the owners of each car.
